Kansas Silver Gloves Youth Boxing Tournaments (2013 - 2014)

 

Wichita, Kansas, December 10, 2013 -The State of Kansas youth boxing community will be hosting their annual State and Region 5 Silver Gloves Boxing Tournaments in Wichita, KS, this winter.

 

The Villa Boxing Club will be hosting this years event, reflecting their overall goal of providing young athletes with the opportunity to participate in the sport of Olympic-style boxing in a safe and protected environment, for free!

 

Israel Villa stated, “All I want to do is box and pass on what I’ve learned to these kids. And no...It’s not just how to hit things. These kids leave the gym learning respect, determination and perseverance. They leave here knowing that no matter what has held them down in the past, they have a place to go and a family to help pick them back up.”

 

This years tournaments will all be held at The Kansas National Guard Armory, located at 3617 South Seneca Street, Wichita, KS, on December 20 & 21, 2013 (State) and January 3 and 4, 2014 (Regionals).

 

Winners of the regional events will advance to fight in the national event held in Independence, MO, January 30 - February 1, 2014.
